Description: The cities of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas offer tourists a range of excellent services in both lodging and gastronomy. There are innumerable outdoor nature activities; among them, some exceptionally beautiful options are visits to the Osorno Volcano, Frutillar and the Petrohué Waterfalls.

One of the most notable circuits is the Cruce Andindo (Andean Cruise), which goes through lakes and mountains to the Argentine city Bariloche. The trip entails crossing the Andes mountain range on a catamaran, going through beautiful lakes, such as the Todos los Santos lake in Chile, and Lago Frías and Nahuel Huapi in Argentina. In the middle of the journey is the town of Peulla, which has ecotourism services, food and lodging. Customs proceedings also take place here. The cruise experience truly is amazing.

Another noteworthy destination in the zone is Chiloe’s Isla Grande, where the numerous churches that fill the archipelago are true architectural relics, so much so that out of the 150 churches on the islands, 16 were named World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
